Information on Safe Sex
NACO recommends young people the ABC approach in their sexual behaviour. ABC stands for:
A – Abstinence. NACO encourages adolescents and youth to delay their sexual debut.
B – Be Faithful. NACO advocates a mutually monogamous relationship, where both partners share a sexual relationship only with each other. Such a relationship should be based on mutual respect.
C – Correct and Consistent use of Condoms. Condoms provide three-fold protection – from HIV/AIDS, from other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and from unwanted pregnancy.
